  • genetic data;
  • biometric data used for identification purposes.

3 How the information is obtained

3.1 Why we collect information about you

We are collecting mainly anonymised data to obtain the local populations’ view in relation to a Council. This consists of answers to multiple-choice questions, none of which contain personally identifiable data. Some questions provide free-text options for written answers. We ask participants not to use these fields to provide any personal information.

3.2 What is the basis for us to process your data?

The Council is processing your data as part of a consultation which is a statutory process. This allows the Council to effectively carry out a task which is in the public interest.

4 What we do with the information

4.1 How will we use the information we hold about you?

The information you provide will be analysed to determine whether a Town Council should be created for the town of Kettering following Local Government Reform in April 2021. The overall results of the consultation will be used to inform the publication of final proposals, which will also be consulted upon.

4.2 Who we will share your information with

The data you provide will be shared with the relevant internal departments or external contractors analysing the findings on our behalf. The online consultation is hosted by Survey Monkey, see their Privacy Statement.

 

5 How long we keep your information for and how we securely dispose of it after use

5.1 Anonymised survey data will be kept for the purposes of analysing the data for an indeterminate amount of time (until we no longer need it), at which point it will be securely destroyed.

5.2 All information will be held securely and will be securely destroyed when no longer needed.

6.1 Your information is securely stored on the council’s systems.

7 Your data protection rights

7.1 The law gives you a number of rights to control what personal information is used by us and how we can use it. Please see section 15 of the council’s Corporate Privacy Notice for further information.

7.2 Please be aware that your rights may differ depending on the lawful basis for processing your personal data.
