Sarah's Sweet Tooth and Cozy Creations
In Wellingborough's Swansgate Shopping Centre you’ll find a mix of shops including new addition, Sarah’s Sweet Tooth and Cozy Creations, a unique place run by mum-and-daughter duo, Sarah and Mary. Since opening its doors in October 2024, the shop has brought something different to the town and has been buzzing with customers which we love to see.
We went over to meet the team and see this exciting new business in action! Sarah told us: “The shop is a blend of two businesses in one. On one side, there is my collection of over 400 varieties of sweets which will satisfy every sweet craving imaginable. There are nostalgic childhood favourites, decadent chocolates, creamy fudge, and even trendy freeze-dried treats, I’ve tried to create a selection that has something for everyone.
On the other side of the shop is my mum’s beautifully styled home and giftware section which offers everything from personalised baby gifts and nappy cakes to stylish homeware accessories that make perfect presents or pieces for any home.Sarah and Mary - Sarah’s Sweet Tooth and Cozy Creations
The idea for Sarah’s Sweet Tooth and Cozy Creations came about when my pop-up sweet stall in the Swansgate Shopping Centre outgrew its setup. Seeing it growing in popularity, it got me thinking. I was out buying stock one day, and the idea struck me that I could open a retail unit. After discussing it with mum, who was fully supportive, we decided to combine our talents and open a shop together.
Mary added: I already run a shop in Northampton and was keen to support Sarah in her venture. We combined our expertise, creativity, and entrepreneurial drive to launch the business with the shop split in two. We’ve created a world of sweets and homeware which is a great combination! Customers can browse Sarah’s impressive wall of sweet jars, get custom hampers made, or pick up a thoughtful gift or home accessory from my side. It’s a perfect pairing that has already drawn a loyal following.
Ironically, Sarah doesn’t even have a sweet tooth, but she loves helping customers choose their favourites. Seeing people spend time in the shop and enjoy the variety of what we have to offer is such a rewarding feeling. It’s been so busy, especially in the lead-up to Christmas. We’re always listening to our customers to make sure we have what they want.
Sarah said: Before setting up my pop-up sweet stall, I worked as a forklift truck driver, and mum had a career in social work. This new direction is a complete change and a big leap for us both, but it’s one of the best decisions we’ve ever made. It’s great that we have each other for support and guidance as running a business has its challenges, but it’s so rewarding.
We are excited for the future of the business and have plans to potentially open more shops. We are optimistic about what’s to come!
