Emma’s Secret Retreat - Weldon
If you’re looking for a calming place to escape the demands of everyday life, or if you need a little time to focus on you, then read on because we’ve found the perfect retreat which offers hair, beauty, and wellbeing treatments in the most beautiful surroundings.
Emma’s Secret Retreat at Yoke Hill Wellbeing is an amazing small business which is led by Emma, who is full of positive vibes, alongside her brilliant team - skincare and beauty therapists Jacqui and Georgia. All experienced and passionate about what they do, the team love to give their clients confidence, and help them to feel their absolute best.
Establishing a small business has taken Emma on a journey from opening her first salon in Desborough, Emma’s Secret Retreat, to the recent expansion to Yoke Hill Wellbeing, a bigger and more beautiful space which opened its doors in January. While Emma was busy working on a hair transformation at the salon, we caught up with Jacqui.
We are based in the beautiful countryside near Weldon and provide a sanctuary for rejuvenation and self-care. The tranquil location is carried through into the building where our clients are greeted with the scents of essential oils and always a warm welcome from us.Jacqui - Emma’s Secret Retreat
The building was derelict when Emma took it on, and with her grand vision and dedication, together with hard work from her team, family, and friends, we have created a space that radiates comfort and serenity. We are committed to not only enhancing people’s outer beauty, but also their inner peace and wellbeing, and we have created an environment where our clients can take time for them, feel pampered, and cared for.
With a wide range of services available including hairdressing, all sorts of skincare treatments, beauty treatments, massages, waxing and more, we work hard to make sure everyone leaves us feeling amazing, and relaxed too.
I’ve been fortunate enough to know Emma for a long time and we have become good friends from working and spending so much time together. We understand the importance of self-care in today’s fast-paced world and with more people becoming aware of the benefits of looking after their hair, skin, and wellbeing we are a busy place, which is great!
With self-care popularity rising and trends constantly evolving, we are continually adapting, and we love to explore new treatments, products, and techniques, and bring them to the salon. I’ve recently introduced a treatment which provides a relaxation experience post-massage with the client resting under an LED lamp to boost collagen in their skin, whilst wearing a heated eye mask. It felt right to add this extra time, to ensure my clients don’t feel rushed and can make the most of the session. It’s an ideal combination and is proving to be very popular.
“We fully understand the transformative power of self-care and investing in yourself, and it doesn’t have to be expensive, we have prices to suit all budgets. Taking care of your skin, hair, health, and wellbeing is sometimes packaged as an indulgence, but it really is a necessity as it brings huge benefits in later life. Whether it’s a weekly or monthly treat, it really is worth it.
The salon is an amazing space and the renovations have included adding a studio which has the most stunning views over the countryside. Emma is always thinking ahead and has started to hold yoga classes in the studio with an experienced instructor and plans to introduce more holistic wellbeing sessions including Tai Chi and meditation. The outdoor space here is also perfect for relaxing, and we can’t wait for warmer weather so we can start to use it!
Emma has a very intuitive and spiritual personality; she has introduced psychic evenings here which are always very popular with our clients. We are a hair, beauty, and wellbeing salon with a difference.
More of these events will be coming up, and we are also looking to add more to the treatment menu by working with new therapists to provide nail, lashes, and more beauty services. We currently have a room ready to rent to the right therapist, so watch this space, there is lots more to come and we’re excited to see where the business takes us.
With its tranquil location, welcoming ambience, professional services and genuine care for each client, Emma’s Secret Retreat at Yoke Hill Wellbeing is a shining example of an independently run business. Start your journey of relaxation, rejuvenation, and radiance with Emma and the team, we know you won’t be disappointed, and your wellbeing deserves it!
