Munch Box - Irthlingborough
New businesses are popping up on High Streets all around you, and we are pleased to share a tasty one that we have found in Irthlingborough.
If you are familiar with the area, we are sure you will have met Munch Box business owners, Mo, and David. They have so much energy and enthusiasm, not to mention passion for what they do, and we are totally here for it!
Although new to Irthlingborough’s High Street, Munch Box has been running for over 6 years and has seen Mo and David touring their delicious burgers, loaded fries, meal boxes, and more at a variety of gatherings in the Munch Box flavour trailer. This includes at sports events and big-name festivals such as Wireless, Reading and Leeds, Download, and the Isle of Wight Festival.
Seeing the queues and demand for their food at these events, and hearing positive feedback from customers got them thinking about finding premises and bringing their mouthwatering menu to the High Street. After seeing an ideal space become available to rent in Irthlingborough and finding out more about the town, they decided to go for it, and Munch Box opened its doors earlier this year.
I live in Northampton and after visiting Irthlingborough and meeting other small business owners, and chatting with residents, it felt like the right place to open our first place, the vibes were good. The town has a strong community feel to it.Mo, Munch Box
David and I are both big food lovers, and it is brilliant having a business doing something that we love. We met at university where we studied business together, and we hit it off immediately! We have created a delicious menu with a variety of beef and chicken burgers, loaded fries, sides, desserts, milkshakes, and more. We use high quality ingredients, with everything cooked fresh on-site, and we make our own sauces too, which is lots of fun, we enjoy trying out different things.
We are both creative and put our all into our marketing campaigns, we love that side of the job, and we are always thinking of new and interesting ideas to grab people’s attention, check out our social media to see what we get up to! We also get our creative juices flowing by choosing the names for our burgers too, we have a music theme, and you will notice that lots of them are named after famous rappers.
Running a business can be stressful at times, but it is good stress. You get out what you put in and we enjoy seeing the results of our hard work. Working at busy festivals has given us great skills where we can easily work under pressure; teamwork makes the dream work! Our families love to get involved and help too; we are very much a family business, which is something we are proud of.
Our first order at our new premises was an exciting moment for us and something we will not forget! We had an opening party with special offers for customers, and the town’s Mayor came along to officially open the shop. It was a great atmosphere, and the food went down a treat, and we have seen lots of customers returning since then.
We have noticed that our customers are of all ages, and that is because we offer something for every taste and appetite. We keep our prices competitive, and our student deal is extremely popular, and the children’s meals too. We have a few elderly people stop by because they fancy trying something new, or don’t feel like cooking. We love meeting and chatting with our customers and hearing their feedback too.
There are lots of small businesses in the town and they have made us feel very welcome, especially the wonderful team at The Flower Company of Irthlingborough, they are brilliant neighbours on the High Street!
The success of Munch Box opening in Irthlingborough quickly spurred us on to open a second takeaway in Northampton which is also going well. We are excited for the business to be growing and can’t wait to see where it takes us next!
Munch Box is open every day with a collection and delivery service available within a 4 mile radius. If you don’t feel like cooking this evening, give them a try. Mo and David would love to tempt you with their menu full of delicious eats and treats!
