Holocaust Memorial Day remembers the 6 million Jews murdered during the Holocaust, alongside the millions of people murdered under Nazi persecution of other groups and during more recent genocides in Cambodia, Rwanda, Bosnia and Darfur.

Bringing together service leavers, veterans and family members with employers and the MoD to aid successful, sustainable transition and networking opportunities for the Armed Forces Community.

April75th Anniversary of NATOThe 75th anniversary of NATO, the transatlantic alliance was founded in 1949, formed after World War II to protect partner nations from invasion. As prominent in the Cold War as in the Ukraine conflict today
29 MayInternational Day of UN Peacekeepers

The United Nations is a force made up of over 113,000 people (although more than a million have served since it first started 70 years ago).

This day pays tribute to all the men and women who have served, and continue to serve, in UN peacekeeping operations, for their high level of professionalism, dedication and courage and to honour the memory of those who have lost their lives in the cause of peace

6 JuneD-Day and Normandy landings

80th anniversary of the largest naval, air and land operation in history.

This operation saw the Allied Forces mount a large-scale invasion of occupied France, that ultimately tipped the course of the Second World War in the Allies’ favour

26 JuneReserves DayReservists give up their spare time to serve in the Reserve Forces, balancing their civilian life with a military career to ensure that, should their country require them, they would be ready to serve as part of the military
15 SeptemberBattle of Britain

To commemorate the military campaign of the Second World War, in which the RAF and the Fleet Air Arm of the Royal Navy defended the UK against attacks by the Luftwaffe.

It was the first major military campaign fought entirely by the air forces

North Northamptonshire Council anniversary

The two-year anniversary of North Northamptonshire Council achieving silver status in the Ministry of Defence Employer Recognition Scheme.

The ERS silver award is the second step in a constant improvement programme which makes it easier for members of the armed forces community to find flexible employers and improves employment pathways between the forces and the private and public sectors

21 OctoberTrafalgar DayCommemorating the victory of the Royal Navy against the French and Spanish naval forces at the Battle of Trafalgar in 1805 
25 OctoberSt. Crispin and Crispinian DayA feast day for Christian saints that is synonymous with the English victory at Agincourt, over 600 years ago, in 1415, during the Hundred Years’ War
10 NovemberRemembrance SundayA day to commemorate the contribution of British and Commonwealth military, and civilian servicemen and women, in the two World Wars and later conflicts 
11 NovemberArmistice Day

Armistice Day is commemorated every year on 11 November to mark the armistice signed between the Allies of World War I and Germany which took effect at 11am
