Shared Prosperity Fund
We have secured £4.8 million from the Government’s Core Shared Prosperity Fund and a further £1.1 million of funding for rural areas from the Rural England Prosperity Fund, as well as £1.9 million of funding to support adult numeracy programmes as part of the Multiply scheme.
Key projects being delivered by the fund:
- £1.5 million to create and improve local green spaces
- £110,000 for local arts, cultural, heritage and creative activities
- £110,000 for campaigns to encourage visits and exploring of the local area, including support for the town centres
- £750,000 to support local community groups
- £300,000 for investment in economic growth
- £350,000 for a visitor and tourism hub at Rushden Lakes and ongoing marketing to support local businesses
- £300,000 for a start-up support program to create local businesses and jobs
- £360,000 to support local businesses to improve their energy efficiency and emit less greenhouse gases, including a small grant programme
- £200,000 to support business measures that grow the number of jobs in the area, including support for retailers
- £630,000 to support local people with a range of training opportunities to be delivered in 2024/2025
- £870,000 to deliver a rural business grant scheme
- £290,000 to support rural community groups with capital grants

Project updates
UK Shared Prosperity Fund
These grants are funded through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, which provides £2.6 billion of funding for local investment by March 2025.
The fund aims to improve pride in place and increase life chances across the UK investing in communities and place, supporting local business, as well as people and skills.
