New Local Plan for North Northamptonshire

Local Plan Call for Sites

Our Call for Sites (CFS) is inviting landowners, developers, and individuals to suggest sites for future development (allocation) within the context of the North Northamptonshire Local Plan (NNLP). This Call for Sites is asking people to submit sites with potential for:

  • new settlement / Garden Village
  • Strategic Urban Extension
  • mixed use development
  • housing
  • gypsy and traveller or travelling show people accommodation
  • employment
  • retail
  • leisure/recreation/community facility
  • cultural
  • other (e.g., energy infrastructure)

If you wish to submit a site for consideration, please submit a form for each site you wish to submit.

Sites submitted previously to our 2022 Call for Sites exercises do not need to be resubmitted unless you wish to change the site area or proposed use. Sites submitted in 2022 have been assessed in terms of their suitability against 47 constraints criteria and afforded an overall HELAA/RAG assessment rating in accordance with the Housing & Economic Land Availability Assessment (HELAA) Methodology and Outcomes document.

Details, including estimated development potential of sites and site delivery trajectories are available to view.

Given it is now four years since the CFS took place, site yields and trajectories should be treated with caution. We are inviting feedback on this and other aspects of sites to help confirm certain aspects of the HELAA and as these will appear within a future iteration, not least establishing whether specific sites should be considered deliverable or developable.

Please also let us know if you are a landowner, developer or agent of a site who wishes to withdraw it from further consideration within the context of the emerging NNLP.

Site submitted as part of this Call for Sites will similarly be assessed in accordance with the HELAA methodology. However, the inclusion and status of a site within the context of the HELAA does not determine whether it will be allocated for development. It will be for the Local Plan to determine which sites are the most suitable to meet housing and employment requirements, and this will be subject to further evidence and consultation.

Some sites submitted to the Call for Sites and subsequently assessed within the context of the HELAA may now benefit from planning permission for which mitigation(s) for specific constraints may have been identified and agreed for a specific scheme.
