Boiler Upgrade Scheme
The Boiler Upgrade Scheme helps homeowners and property owners replace fossil fuel heating systems with low-carbon heating, such as heat pumps and biomass boilers. The scheme provides a government grant towards the cost of installation. The grant is applied as an upfront discount through your installer.
Before you apply
The Boiler Upgrade Scheme is installer-led. This means your chosen MCS-certified installer will submit the application and manage the grant process on your behalf. As with any major home improvement project, it is recommended that you obtain quotes from more than one installer before making a decision.
How to apply
To apply:
- contact suitable MCS certified installers to get quotes for the work
- confirm you’re eligible (your installer will tell you)
- agree a quote with your chosen installer
