Local Development Scheme

A report setting out options for progressing the North Northamptonshire Local Plan was reported to the Executive at its meeting on 20 January 2026. This report recommends that work on the Local Plan for the period 2024-2045 will be progressed under the new development plan system (Option B) when regulations are in force early in 2026. The report was resolved as recommended. The report is available to view (Item 11 - Local Plan timetable).

Officers are continuing to progress work on the Local Plan review, and Appendix A, Option B of the report provides the indicative timelines. A timetable for the local plan will be published after the local plan regulations are made. A timetable for the Minerals and Waste Plan will be published in due course.
