Street collections
You need a licence if you intend to collect money or sell articles for charity in any:
- street
- public place, such as a shop doorway or car park
There is no charge for this type of licence.
Apply
Applicants must provide:
- 1 months notice before for any collection
- a letter of authority
- secretary, treasurer, auditor and bankers details

Next steps
We'll review your application following our street collections policy.
We will issue your application within 28 days from the date it was deemed valid.
Appeals
Please contact [email protected] in the first instance. Any applicant who is refused a licence can appeal to the Minister for the Cabinet Office within 14 days.
Returns
You must supply us with a return for what has been collected. Returns should be made within 1 month of the expiry of the permit.
