Cooling towers

Cooling towers and evaporative condensers help to remove excess heat from sites like power stations or chemical plants. 

You must tell us if your commercial site uses a cooling tower or evaporative condenser.

Exemptions 

You do not need to inform us if:

• it contains no water exposed to air
• the water supply is not connected
• the electrical supply is not connected

Apply

A council representative will arrange a safety inspection of your site if required.

Change your licence

You must also notify us if you need to change, stop using, or remove your cooling tower or evaporative condenser.
