Principal Social Worker

As part of the service's management group contribute to the overall management of the team in order to meet service objectives, key performance targets and statutory requirements of social care legislation.

To mentor and provide supervision to social workers within the team to ensure that their work meets Social Work England standards of proficiency and contributes to the achievement of service objectives.

To manage complex cases within statutory and legal frameworks. To demonstrate active leadership skills, including the ability to make informed and balanced decisions in complex situations, and to be a positive role model to other Social Workers and staff.

Registered as a Social Worker with Social Work England (SWE), and willingness to evidence continued professional development to maintain registration.

We're committed rewarding experience within our workforce. 

As a registered Social Worker you will be awarded an extra £2,000 pro rata Market Forces Supplement on top of your base salary. This is to reward the unique experience and knowledge you bring.

In addition, we offer enhanced rates of pay for those who undertake additional duties on top of their day-day Principal Social Work role. If you become a Practice Educator, Approved Mental Health Professional or Best Interest Assessor in addition to your Principal Social Worker role (and meet the base qualifying criteria), we offer a further £2,000 pro rata.

This means there is the potential to earn an extra £4,000 on top of your base salary.
