Revaluation

Transitional relief

If the rateable value of your property changes upwards significantly as a result of revaluation, your rates will change gradually. This is called 'transitional relief'.

You do not need to apply for transitional relief as it will be automatically applied to your bill.

There are limits to how much your rates can increase and the changes will be introduced gradually year on year. This means you will not get a high increase from year one of a new valuation period.
