2026 UK Youth Parliament election and key dates
The election and voting process is open to young people aged 11-18, who are resident in North Northamptonshire.
North Northamptonshire has the right to elect two Members of Youth Parliament (MYP’s), who will serve this year for just under a one year period, until 31 March 2027, as there was a national delay to elections this year.
Standing
Young People interested in standing as a Member of Youth Parliament for North Northamptonshire are invited to submit their manifestos between the 24 April to 3 May 2026.
Submitted manifesto’s will be uploaded ahead of the voting period which will be on the 18 May 2026.
Voting
You need to be 11 to 18 years to vote. Manifestos will be available online to help you decide who to vote for.
When voting is open, we'll provide an online link to voting which is available from schools, colleges, local libraries or and Family Hubs.

Count
Once elections are completed and votes are counted, the two young people who receive the most votes (first past the post) will be elected as the MYP’s.
Results will be released on Friday 22 May and will be available on the our latest news section.
