Town and parish councils
North Northamptonshire has over 100 town and parish councils, each one electing Councillors every 4 years to serve the local community. The most recent elections to these councils were in May 2021.

Current town and parish council vacancies
Please see below for notices of vacancy for town and parish councils within North Northamptonshire. If you live or work within the relevant parish (and meet the relevant criteria) you could stand for election as a councillor or be co-opted on to the town or parish council.
I must give notice, under Section 87(2) of the Local Government Act 1972, that a vacancy exists in the office of Parish Councillor for Kings Cliffe Parish Council.
The vacancy has arisen due to the resignation of Debbie Balmer.
For a by-election to be held to fill the vacancy, a request by 10 registered local government electors in Kings Cliffe Parish, must be made, within 14 days of this notice (excluding Saturdays, Sundays and bank holidays) to:

On receipt of a valid request, the Returning Officer will set the date of an election to be held within 60 days of this notice (excluding Saturdays, Sundays and bank holidays), in accordance with Rule 5 of the Local Elections (Parishes and Communities) (England and Wales) Rules 2006.
If an election is not requested, the Parish Council will co-opt a person to fill the vacancy as soon as practicable.

The vacancy has arisen due to the resignation of Cllr Sophie Beckett.
