Refusing applications
Applications can be refused if you:
- are under 16 years of age or aged 16 to 17 without a suitable guarantor
- are not eligible for housing because of your immigration status
- are a home-owner, unless you meet exceptional circumstances or the criteria to bid on sheltered complexes
- have no local connection to North Northamptonshire
- housing related debts to any social or private landlord
- history of unacceptable behaviour
The law lets us make our own decisions about who does and who doesn't qualify for our housing register based on the area's local needs. If you don't qualify, you should investigate alternative housing options.
