School holiday support

If your child gets free school meals, we'll be providing a food voucher during summer and winter school holidays.

This will be provided as a one-off voucher of £90 and covers the:

  • Christmas holiday
  • February half-term
  • Easter holiday

You will also receive a £15 essential back-to-school voucher if you were eligible during the Christmas holiday.

Issuing vouchers

These will be issued by schools directly - you don't need to apply for vouchers. But you do need to apply for free school meals on our Parent Portal if you haven't already.

If you become eligible partway through the school year, you won't get the full amount.

Vouchers not received

Please complete the following checks before contacting the HSF team:

  • check your spam and junk email folders
  • check directly with your child’s school

If the school has not received your voucher, the school needs to email us

Incorrect value or supermarket

If you think the voucher is incorrect, check directly with the school. They'll need to check that the voucher has been allocated to the correct child.

Once allocated, we can't amend or re-allocate the voucher

October voucher issues

Unfortunately, we can't backdate vouchers or make changes to vouchers for the October half-term

Home education, specialist provision or missed out during allocation

If you child didn't receive a voucher for these reasons, email our team at [email protected] including:

  • the child’s full legal name
  • their date of birth
  • confirmation of the school they attend, or that they are home educated

We will:

  • check your Free School Meal eligibility
  • email vouchers directly to parents or carers of home educated children
  • email the voucher to the school for 'children on roll'
  • inform you if your child is not eligible for a voucher

It is your responsibility to make ensure your school has your correct email address so they can send vouchers.
