Standing together in remembrance across North Northamptonshire

Communities

03 November 2025

North Northamptonshire Council's bold announcement of the latest news with a dynamic arrow symbol on a dark background.

Communities across North Northamptonshire will come together this November to mark Remembrance Sunday, honouring the courage, service, and sacrifice of those who have served in the Armed Forces.

Remembrance Sunday is a time for reflection, a national moment to remember those who gave their lives in defence of our freedoms and way of life.

Across the area, representatives from North Northamptonshire Council will join veterans, serving personnel, and residents at services and events to pay tribute to the Armed Forces community, including those from Britain and the Commonwealth, the emergency services, and all who have lost their lives due to conflict or terrorism.

Details of local services and commemorative events taking place across North Northamptonshire can be found on the Remembrance Day web page.

On Tuesday 11 November, council staff will observe the traditional two-minute silence at 11am, with members of the council’s Armed Forces Staff Network taking part in a remembrance service at the Kettering War Memorial.

Remembrance Day means a great deal to people across North Northamptonshire. It’s a time when we pause together, not just to honour those who served, but to reflect on the values they stood for.

North Northamptonshire Council is proud to be a member of the Armed Forces Covenant and remains committed to supporting our Armed Forces community and ensuring their sacrifices are never forgotten.
Cllr Gregory Wilcox, Executive Member for Communities.
Each November, I’m deeply moved by the way our communities come together in quiet reflection and gratitude. On the big day itself, I am always immensely proud to see our well-turned-out uniformed youngsters parading with dignity, representing their families, communities and our country in such a splendid way.

As a Council, we’re proud to support our Armed Forces community not just on Remembrance Day, but throughout the year. These tributes remind us of the strength, courage and sacrifice that shaped our nation, and it’s our duty to ensure their legacy lives on.
Cllr Martin Griffiths, Leader of North Northamptonshire Council.

North Northamptonshire Council is a proud signatory of the Armed Forces Covenant and holds the Gold Award under the Employer Recognition Scheme, recognising its ongoing support for the Armed Forces community.
