Active families

The Active Families project helps families across North Northamptonshire to move more and enjoy being active together. Working with a range of local partners, we provide fun, inclusive activity sessions designed for families of all ages and abilities.

Get involved

• Active Families Fundays: Join us each summer for our popular Fundays and enjoy free activities for all the family. From sports and games to crafts and challenges
• Xplorers: Take part in free, family-friendly navigational challenges in your local park using a simple map to find hidden markers and collect clue cards
• Family Fun: Enjoy free activities at your local Family Hub, delivered in collaboration with the Strong Start for Life programme
• Monthly Buggy Walks: Join our accessible walks designed for parents and carers with little ones. It’s a great way to get active, meet new people and explore your local area
• After School Family Fun: Drop-in sessions for families to get active together after school, activities vary each week from games and challenges to creative play
• Family Park Play: We’ll bring the equipment and you bring the fun, join us for family games, mini golf and more in parks across North Northamptonshire
• Group Assistance: Our team supports a variety of local groups, including termly visits to the YIP Club in Rushden and the Home Education Group at Wellingborough Libraries
