Polling district and polling place review

Polling district and polling place review

We are conducting a further review of polling districts and polling places used across North Northamptonshire.

We're doing this as the Local Government Boundary Commission for England (LGBCE) has set new ward boundaries, ready for local elections in May 2025.

As part of this, we need to:

  • divide all wards into smaller voting areas called polling districts
  • decide the polling stations and places for these districts

We want your input and feedback about how we do that. We will also use feedback provided in the 2023 review.

A polling place is the building where you go to vote, and the polling station is the room or area in the building.

We also want to get feedback about:

  • accessibility of polling stations where you go to vote
  • alternatives on using schools as polling stations

Review

We will try our best to make sure everyone has reasonable access to polling stations that are:

  • easily identifiable
  • within a reasonable distance and easy to get to
  • disabled accessible and practical for all
  • part of your community

Wards are set by the LGBCE and were consulted on separately - the ward boundaries aren't part of this review.

Have your say

You can submit feedback until 23:59pm on 25 October.

You can also provide feedback by email or in person at the address below. Paper copies or Easy Read versions of our survey can be supplied on request.

Results

We will complete the review by 30 November and publish:

  • results
  • give reasons for decisions
  • other information.

Results will also be available for inspection at our office below.

Completion of the review is timed to coincide with the revision of the Register of Electors on 1 December (ready for local elections in 2025).
