Polling district and polling place review 2023
We reviewed all polling districts, places and polling stations used across North Northamptonshire covering our Parliamentary constituencies in 2023 so that:
- there are reasonable facilities for everyone to vote
- these facilities are accessible for disabled people
- when we consider or review a polling place, the accessibility needs for disabled people are taken into account
Review
Any elector in a constituency situated in whole or in part of our area was able have a say and give suggestions of alternative polling places.
We sought views from people who have expertise or knowledge about disabled people accessing premises or facilities - including community groups, councillors, parish councils, current polling station booking agents, former polling station staff and groups representing disabled people within the area.
Our (Acting) Returning Officer provided information to the review - including the location of existing and proposed polling stations.
We consulted with the (Acting) Returning Officer for West Northamptonshire Council for the area of the Daventry constituency, which falls within North Northamptonshire.
On completion, we give reasons for decisions in the review and publish other required information.
Terminology
