Winter Mini Challenge

The Winter Mini Challenge is back. Following the popular ‘Story Garden’ Summer Reading Challenge (finished on the 20 September), this online challenge invites children to read three books or more, between 1 December 2025 and 20 February 2026 to earn digital rewards.

How to join

Taking part in the Winter Mini Challenge is easy:

Sign up at winterminichallenge to create an online profile (if you took part in the Summer Reading Challenge online, you might have a profile already)
Read at least three books over the holidays
Rate and review the books on the Winter Mini Challenge website to unlock a virtual badge and download a certificate to print

There are also lots of extra books, games, activities and quizzes on the website for you to enjoy.

Books to be read for the Winter Mini Challenge

Children can read books from the library including our range of e-Books and e-Audiobooks, you can also read books you already have at home or from school.
