Comment on a planning application
Comments need to be made in writing and can be submitted online, by email or letter. Anyone can comment on any application, but you should view the application documents and plans before you do.
You will need to provide:
- your name
- address
- planning application number
and - site address or location
Anonymous or verbal comments can't be accepted.
All comments are available for public inspection. Before submitting your comments please read our privacy notice.
Deadline
You have 24 days to make comments from the consultation or publicity start dates of the application.
We'll confirm the deadline for comments on:
- letters we send you
- site notices displayed close to the development site
- on either 'important dates' or 'key dates' within the search results on our planning application portals
Responding
Due to the high number of comments we receive, we don't acknowledge receipt of comments and can't enter into correspondence about any issues raised.
Comments used for appeals
If an application is refused for a householder application, only comments made during the application stage are used going forward in the appeals process. No further comments can be made.
