Equality policy and strategy

We have started an initial review of our Equality strategy 2021 to 2025.

So that we meet our legal duties, our Equality strategy and its objectives were developed to be in place from day one of the new council being formed.

It is crucial that our new Equality strategy reflects our new Corporate Plan. This is currently being developed and is anticipated to be approved in late 2025.

This means we have scheduled the revision of our new Equality strategy for early 2026 - ensuring that future revisions can also be aligned to reflect Corporate Plans.

During this period of review, we will continue to work towards our agreed existing equality objectives in the Equality strategy below:
