SEND Support Service - Courses for parents and carers
We offer a range of virtual and face-to-face courses and workshops to help parents understand and support their child's Special Educational Need (SEN). These occur from September to July each year.

What the course will include
It will cover how to:
- evaluate behaviours
- teach your child to better understand what anger is
- strategies to communicate emotions
- teach relaxation techniques

What the course will include
The course aims to improve your confidence in recognising and managing your child’s anxiety at home.
We will help you to:
- identify triggers
- consider a variety of strategies

What the course will include
The course aims to help you:
- understand more about difficulties surrounding food and autism
- explore strategies and visual resources to support overcoming food and eating difficulties

What the course will include
The course is designed to help you:
- gain a basic understanding of sensory processing
- consider how sensory processing relates to your child
- understand some sensory supporting strategies

This 6 week workshop is for parents and carers of children with social communication difficulties and autism.
You must attend all 6 sessions to get the best out of this workshop.
Sessions will enable you to develop a range of support strategies for your child.

What the course will include
The course will cover:
- the sequencing of toileting
- strategies to try and bridge the child's gaps or sticking points (including sensory)
- show ways to move the sequence on from the child's starting point
