Screening decision notice for Rushden

Rushden Neighbourhood Development Plan - Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) and Habitat Regulations Assessment (HRA) Screening Opinion: Wednesday 16 March to Wednesday 22 April 2026.

This letter sets out the screening opinion of North Northamptonshire Council regarding the requirement for a SEA and HRA in relation to the Rushden Neighbourhood Development Plan.

The screening opinion has been informed by a detailed report and the views of the three statutory consultation bodies: the Environment Agency, Historic England, and Natural England.

The screening process concluded that a SEA is not required for the Rushden Neighbourhood Development Plan and that it does not need to be subject to a HRA.

The reasons for the decision are set out in the accompanying ‘Strategic Environmental Assessment Screening and Habitats Regulations Assessment Screening Report - Final Version (22 April 2026)’.
