Survey invites views on travel to school experiences
School travel assistance02 November 2026

Parents and carers of children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), who use council-arranged travel to school services, are being invited to share their experiences.
The North Northamptonshire Council survey aims to gather feedback on what is working well and where improvements could be made, including areas such as reliability, communication, support for needs, and the overall journey experience.
The survey will be emailed to anyone in North Northamptonshire who receives SEND transport to school.
The council’s ambition is for travel to school to support young people to live healthy, active and increasingly independent lives, while giving families clarity about what to expect and how decisions are made.
Following on from a previous survey earlier this year, the council is continuing to review how travel to school works in practice and is listening to families, educational settings, and partners to understand what works well and where changes could make a positive difference.
Parents and carers of children, with an EHCP (Education, Health and Care Plan), who currently receive home to school transport are invited to take part in a short survey.
Feedback is anonymous and will help inform future improvements to Travel to School services.
The survey closes on 18 December 2026.
