The Quit Hub launches ahead of Stoptober to help North Northamptonshire residents quit smoking
30 September 2026

North Northamptonshire Council's Stop Smoking Service is beginning this year's Stoptober campaign with a fresh new identity, relaunching as The Quit Hub.
While the service has a new look, residents can continue to access the same proven support that has helped many people across North Northamptonshire stop smoking successfully.
The service provides 12 weeks of free behavioural support from a dedicated Stop Smoking Advisor, alongside Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) products delivered directly to clients’ homes.
Smoking remains the leading cause of preventable illness and premature death in England. In North Northamptonshire, smoking prevalence stands at 13.1%, which is higher than the national average.
Supporting people to stop smoking is a key priority within North Northamptonshire Council's Health and Wellbeing Strategy 2024-2029, which identifies smoking and vaping as one of the area's major health challenges.
The service plays an important role in supporting the Government's ambition for England to become smoke free by 2030. Smokers are three times more likely to quit successfully with support, and local data continues to demonstrate the effectiveness of the support available from the service.
The new Quit Hub brand has been designed to reflect the service's non-judgemental, approachable and supportive ethos. Its new tagline, 'With you all the way', highlights the personalised support offered by advisors, who work closely with each individual to create a quit plan tailored to their needs and circumstances.
Stopping smoking is one of the best things anyone can do for their health, and we know it can also have a significant positive impact on finances, wellbeing and family life. The launch of The Quit Hub gives our stop smoking service a fresh identity that reflects the warmth, encouragement and practical support our advisors provide every day.Cllr Brian Benneyworth, North Northamptonshire Council's Executive Member for Housing, Health and Leisure
The service is designed to meet people where they are in their quitting journey. Whether someone is considering quitting for the first time or has tried before, our team is ready to help them succeed. I would encourage anyone thinking about stopping smoking to take advantage of the free support available and make this Stoptober the start of a healthier future.
Smoking remains the single biggest cause of preventable illness and death, which is why helping people to quit continues to be a major public health priority. Every successful quit attempt improves a person's health and reduces their risk of developing serious conditions such as cancer, heart disease and respiratory illness.Jane Bethea, Director of Public Health, Communities and Leisure at North Northamptonshire Council
The Quit Hub is built around understanding, encouragement and evidence-based support. We know that people are much more likely to quit successfully when they receive professional help, and our advisors are committed to supporting residents every step of the way. Stoptober provides an excellent opportunity to make that first move towards a smoke-free life.
With Stoptober about to start, now is the ideal time to start planning a quit attempt. Research shows that people who remain smoke free for 28 days are five times more likely to quit for good.
The Quit Hub team is ready to listen, providing personalised support regardless of whether it is someone's first quit attempt or their sixth.
