Jobs and careers20 August 2026

North Northamptonshire Council is wishing luck to everyone across the area who is receiving their examination results or qualifications today, 20 August 2026.
The council is wishing luck to students who are collecting their GCSE results, as well as those who took Level 1 and Level 2 vocational technical qualifications (VTQs).
Results day marks the start of the next stage of many young people’s lives as they move on to new challenges, whether that is continuing to study at sixth form or college or moving on to an apprenticeship or other work-based learning opportunity.
I would like to offer my congratulations to all Year 11 students across North Northamptonshire receiving their GCSE and VTQ results today. Reaching this stage is a significant achievement and reflects the hard work, determination and commitment shown throughout their studies. I would also like to thank the parents, carers, teachers, support staff and families who have encouraged and supported our young people every step of the way. Their guidance and dedication play an invaluable role in helping students achieve their potential. Results day is an important milestone and, whether students receive the results they were hoping for or face unexpected outcomes, it is important to remember that there are many routes available to success. From A Levels, T Levels and vocational qualifications to apprenticeships, training and employment opportunities, there is a wide range of exciting options to explore. I wish all our young people the very best as they take their next steps and look forward to seeing what they achieve in the future.Cllr Elizabeth Wright, North Northamptonshire Council’s Executive Member for Children, Education and Families
