The newly-elected Members of Youth Parliament (MYPs) who will represent young people across North Northamptonshire have been announced.

Ivanna Obi (17) has been re-elected, and Kendra Okelola (15) has been elected for the first time, following a public vote held on Monday 18 May 2026.

Ivanna and Kendra will be able to attend Westminster when Youth Parliament is sitting and represent their peers and community at the highest level. They will also sit on North Northamptonshire’s Youth Advisory Council.

More than 600 votes were cast by young people during the election, and North Northamptonshire Council has thanked everyone – including local school pupils – who took the time to read the candidate mandates and choose the one that reflected their beliefs and values.

The election was organised by North Northamptonshire Council, in partnership with the Department of Culture, Media & Sports (DCMS)and the National Youth Agency (NYA).

More information will soon follow about the new candidates and their roles – so watch this space!
