New Chair appointed at North Northamptonshire Council

At North Northamptonshire Council’s Full Council last night, Councillors welcomed a new Chair for the civic year up to May 2027.

During the meeting, Cllr Andy Sims was elected as the Council’s chair.

The role of the Chair is a largely ceremonial one, including chairing Full Council meetings and representing the area at civic functions and events.

The Chair of the Council also selects a charity for the year, and Cllr Sims has selected Wickesteed Park and Two Wheels For Life as his charities for this year.

It is a real honour to have been chosen as Chair of North Northamptonshire Council. I’m looking forward to representing our communities over the coming year, supporting local events and organisations, and working alongside fellow councillors to promote the area.
