Join other families and professionals at SEND workshops
Specialist SEND support services10 October 2025

Parents of children with special educational needs, as well as SEND professionals, are invited to a series of workshops, which will include an update on the recent survey about local families’ experiences.
The free workshops are being hosted by the North Northants SEND Partnership which includes North Northamptonshire Council, Northampton Children’s Trust, Northamptonshire Integrated Care Board, and North Northamptonshire Parent Carer Voices (NPCV), and are aimed at parents and carers of children and young people aged 0–25 with SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) as well as professionals who work within this field.
The popular sessions have been held for the last three years and have previously provided a great opportunity for parents to meet other families and link up with SEND professionals, as well as find out more about what help and support is available.
There will also be a chance to hear about the outcomes of North Northamptonshire’s first annual SEND survey, which saw more than 500 families and young people share their views and experiences.
As well as this, there’ll be a discussion about ‘co-production’ whereby families can be a part of improving local services.
These events bring families, professionals, and services together to share expertise and build stronger support networks for children and young people with SEND.Claire Baxter, Director at NPCV

We know these workshops have been very well received by families in the past, with many sharing how valuable they found the opportunity to connect with others in similar situations and discover support they hadn’t previously been aware of. I strongly encourage parents of children with special educational needs to attend, along with professionals working in this space. These sessions are a great example of how we can work together to find solutions and strengthen the support available to children and families. I would also like to thank everyone who took part in the recent SEND survey. We will be sharing more about the findings during these workshops, and continuing the conversation about how we can improve services collaboratively.Cornelia Andrecut, Executive Director of Children's Services, for North Northamptonshire Council
