Further upgrades to A6 at Irthlingborough planned

North Northamptonshire Council’s Highways team will continue with the upgrades to Station Road in Irthlingborough from Monday 10 August.

The road is currently closed 24/7 until 6am on Monday to allow for waterproofing works to take place on the bridge. Once these works have been completed, 3-way traffic lights will be in place during the day until Friday 28 August whilst works take place to:

• Introduce traffic signals to the existing junction - these will be in operation from Saturday 29 August
• Resurfacing the roads
• Improvements to signage and lines

Further overnight closures are also planned from Monday 24 August to Saturday 29 August (8pm to 6am) for works to install the bridge joints, pothole repairs, plus vegetation and gullies clearances.

Once the above works are completed, the A6 bridge and the junction improvements with Station Road will be fully open for residents and motorists to use.

I know that these works have been disruptive to motorists and I want to reassure residents that we are nearly there.
