North Northamptonshire Council has completed works along A6116, Steel Road in Corby as part of a wider programme of highways repairs.

To improve the road condition of this well-used section of road, resurfacing works were completed under 15 overnight road closures.

The works will help address areas of deterioration, extend the lifespan of the road and improve safety and ride quality for road users.

I know from speaking to residents and my fellow Councillors that this section of road has been in need of repairs for some time.

Following 15 nights of repair works, I am sure residents and drivers will be able to see the difference.

But the work doesn’t stop there, we know that roads across North Northamptonshire still need work. We are committed to building on this work completed along Steel Road and repairing roads across the whole area.
Cllr Chris McGiffen, the council’s Executive Member for Highways and Travel
We are doing all we can to improve roads across North Northamptonshire and large schemes like this are a prime example our commitment to residents and motorists.

Like councils across the country, we are grappling with the problem of years of underinvestment in our roads alongside budget constraints. But I hope residents can see that a noticeable improvement is underway and we appeal for your patience whilst works like this are completed.
Cllr Martin Griffiths, Leader of North Northamptonshire Council
