As part of the Government’s Pride in Place programme, a Chair of the Queensway Neighbourhood Board is being recruited.

Queensway in Wellingborough is set to benefit from £20 million of investment over the next 10 years through the national programme. A Neighbourhood Board will be set up to shape a shared long term vision and develop a regeneration plan for the area. This plan will identify local priorities and determine how the funding will be spent.

The Chair will play a pivotal role in convening and overseeing the Queensway Neighbourhood Board, working closely with the local MP, councillors, partners and community representatives. This voluntary position is open to individuals who live or work in North Northamptonshire and have strong connections to the Queensway area.

I am thrilled that the Labour Government is making this record investment in Queensway. Nobody knows a local area as well as the people who live and work there, so it’s important that the Chair of the Neighbourhood Board has strong connections to the Queensway community. Once the right person has been recruited, we will see this project really move forward and I can’t wait to see how it progresses.Gen Kitchen, MP for Wellingborough & Rushden

As someone who has lived in the area for many years, I know that the Chair of the Queensway Neighbourhood Board will be central to ensuring local people are at the heart of that transformation. We are looking for someone who can champion the community’s ambitions, bring people together, and help shape a strong and positive future for Queensway.Cllr Martin Griffiths, Leader of North Northamptonshire Council
