Chair sought for Kingswood, Hazel Leys and Exeter Board as Pride in Corby Programme gets underway

As part of the Government’s Pride in Place programme, a Chair of the Kingswood, Hazel Leys and Exeter Neighbourhood Board is being recruited.

Kingswood, Hazel Leys and Exeter in Corby is set to benefit from £20 million of investment over the next 10 years through the national programme.  A Neighbourhood Board will be set up to shape a shared long term vision and develop a regeneration plan for the area. This plan will identify local priorities and determine how the funding will be spent.

The Chair will play a pivotal role in convening and overseeing the Kingswood, Hazel Leys and Exeter Neighbourhood Board, working closely with the local MP, councillors, partners and community representatives. This voluntary position is open to individuals who live or work in North Northamptonshire and have strong connections to the Kingswood, Hazel Leys and Exeter areas.

This is an significant opportunity to affect outcomes in Kingswood, Hazel Leyes and Exeter Estate. We have already begun the consultation process by talking to residents, holding face-to-face meetings and visiting schools, but this is just the beginning. The challenge is to make this real for people. Responsibilities include championing community engagement, ensuring transparent governance, and helping to cocreate the 10-year Pride in Corby vision and regeneration plan for Kingswood, Hazel Leys and Exeter.  The successful applicant will bring leadership, strong communication skills and a passion for community-led change.
