People with real life experience of receiving care and support from adult social care services are being invited to an exciting new forum.

North Northamptonshire Council is launching a ‘Together for Care - Lived Experience Forum’ to bring people together with a shared goal of improving services, and bringing about meaningful change in Adult Social Care.

The monthly forum will be a relaxed and inclusive space where the voices of those with lived experience will be heard and listened to. The Council is also particularly keen to involve people from under-represented communities.

The forum is keen to involve:

  • People with experience of accessing Adult Social Care services
  • People living with long-term health conditions or disabilities
  • Unpaid carers supporting family or friends
  • Community members from different backgrounds

The meetings will be in-person, with the option to join online via Microsoft Teams.

Co-production can be powerful, and this is such an exciting opportunity for people to influence real decisions, projects and policies, and connect with others who care about making a difference. The forum aims to bring together people with a wide range of personal experiences and insights which will be hugely beneficial in helping improve services for everyone regardless of their background. We want to hear what is working, and what may be not working, so we can improve what we, and our partner organisations, can offer.Cllr Eddie McDonald, North Northamptonshire Council’s Deputy Leader and Executive Member for Adults and Health Partnerships

To get involved, people are invited to contact the Council via [email protected] or call 0300 126 3000 (Option 1, then 2, then 1). Forum dates, locations, and agendas will be provided once people have got in touch. If people require support with transport, or in other ways to attend, they are encouraged to mention this via the contacts above.
