Get involved with Adult Social Care

If you have experience of Adult Social Care, whether you use services, look after someone who does, or you have knowledge about care in your community, you can help us to shape what our services look like.

We know that people who use our services, and our communities, know their needs better than anyone else.

Your real-life experiences are important to help us understand what’s working and what isn’t. We want everyone to feel welcome, included and listened to.

We want to listen to your views and work with you as equals. This is called co-production.

What we mean by co-production

Co-production means working together as equals to create services that work for everyone.

It’s not just about giving your opinion. It’s about being part of the whole process, from sharing your ideas, making decisions together, and checking how things are going.

We are working to make this part of everything we do in Adult Social Care.

Ways you can get involved

There are lots of ways to take part. You can choose what works best for you. You could:

  • attend our monthly Together for Care Forum meetings
  • help recruit our managers by joining interview panels and setting questions
  • help write and review policies
  • share your experiences to help us understand community needs
  • support staff training by sharing your story
  • take part in feedback sessions or testing new ideas
  • work with senior managers on planning and budgets
  • join project teams and help design new services and much more

Who can join

We want to hear from:

  • people who access Adult Social Care services, or used to access services
  • people who live with disabilities and long-term health conditions
  • carers, family members and supporters
  • people from all different backgrounds and communities
  • professionals who want to work in partnership with us

We are especially keen to hear from people whose voices are not always heard.

Ready to get involved

Getting involved is simple. Fill in our online form to tell us a bit about yourself and how you would like to take part.

Once we receive your form, we will contact you to talk about how you’d like to be involved and ask about any support or access needs you may have. If you have any questions, you can email [email protected].
