Annual Council to take place next week

North Northamptonshire Council’s Annual meeting will take place next Thursday (22 May) at 6pm at the Corby Cube.

This will be the first time North Northamptonshire’s newly elected councillors will meet in a formal setting. During the meeting, the Council’s new Leader, Deputy Leader and Executive will be confirmed, alongside the Chairman and Vice-Chairman for the coming year. Each of the political groups announced their proposed Leaders last week.

The membership of various committees that councillors sit on across the council, along with representatives for a number of boards and forums within the area, will also be approved during the meeting.

Following the election on 1 May 2025, the 68 councillors on North Northamptonshire Council comprise of:

  • 39 Reform 
  • 13 Conservative
  • 8 Green Party
  • 4 Labour
  • 1 Liberal Democrats
  • 1 Independent
  • Plus 2 vacancies in the Higham Ferrers ward

The Annual Council meeting will take place from 6pm on 22 May and will be livestreamed on the council’s YouTube channel.
