Christmas quiz - terms and conditions
1.0 The promoter
1.1 The promoter is: North Northamptonshire Council Country Parks and Woodlands of Sheerness House, 41 Meadow Road, Kettering, NN16 8TL (‘Promoter’).
2.0 The competition
2.1 The Competition is run by North Northamptonshire Council Country Parks and Woodlands, [email protected].
3.0 How to enter
3.1 The competition will run from 10am on Saturday 22 November 2025 (the "Opening Date") to 3:30pm on Tuesday 16 December 2025 (the "Closing Date") inclusive. To enter the competition, participants must return a completed competition entry form and pay an entry fee of £1.
Competition entry forms can be found in any of the five North Northamptonshire Council Country Park’s cafes. All competition entry forms received after 3:30pm on the Closing Date are automatically disqualified.
3.2 The Promoter will not accept:
(a) responsibility for competition entries that are corrupted, not successfully completed or transmitted, lost, mislaid, damaged or delayed in transit, regardless of cause, including, for example, as a result of any postal failure, equipment failure, technical malfunction, systems, satellite, network, server, website, computer hardware or software failure of any kind; or
(b) proof of posting or transmission as proof of receipt of entry to the competition.
3.3 By submitting a competition entry form, participants are agreeing to be bound by these terms and conditions.
3.4 Competition prizes will be specified on the social media post advertising them (giveaway adverts).
4.0 Eligibility
4.1 The competition is only open to all residents in the UK aged 18 years or over, but exclude:
(a) Elected councillors of the Promoter or its holding or subsidiary companies
(b) agents or any third party directly associated with administration of the competition
(c) members of their immediate families or households of (a) and (b) above.
4.2 In entering the competition, participants confirm that they are eligible to do so and eligible to claim the prize. The Promoter may require participants to provide proof that they are eligible to enter the competition.
4.3 The Promoter will not accept competition entries that are:
(a) automatically generated by computer or created by artificial intelligence (including but not limited to chatbots such as ChatGPT or similar software applications)
(b) completed by third parties or in bulk
(c) illegible, have been altered, reconstructed, forged or tampered with
(d) photocopies and not originals
(e) incomplete
4.4 There is a limit of one entry per person. Entries on behalf of another person will not be accepted and joint submissions are not allowed.
4.5 The Promoter reserves all rights to disqualify participants if their conduct is contrary to the spirit or intention of the prize competition.
4.6 Competition entries cannot be returned.
4.7 By entering the competition, participants agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.
4.8 The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify, refuse entry, or refuse to award the prizes to anyone in breach of these terms and conditions.
5.0 Winners
5.1 One winner will be selected at random on 17 December 2025 by a computer process or supervised by an independent person from all valid entries received and the Promoter’s decision will be final and binding, and no correspondence will be entered into about it.
5.2 For the avoidance of doubt the prize for the winner is non-exchangeable, non-transferable and no cash alternative is offered.
5.3 The Promoter will contact the winner personally as soon as practicable after the announcement date, using the telephone number or email address provided with the competition entry. The Promoter will not amend any contact information once the competition entry form has been submitted.
5.4 The Promoter must either publish or make available information that indicates that a valid award took place. To comply with this obligation the Promoter will publish the surname and county of major prize winners on 17 December 2025 (announcement date) and, if applicable, their winning entries.
5.5 If participants object to their surname, county and winning entry being published or made available, please contact the Promoter’s Communication Team as per the details set out at clause.
However, the Promoter must still provide the information and winning entry to the Advertising Standards Authority on request.
6.0 Claiming the prize
6.1 The winner will receive a prize as specified in the giveaway adverts.
6.2 The winner will be notified using the contact information provided on the competition entry form within 14 days of the closing date. If the winner cannot be contacted or does not claim the prize within 28 days of being contacted the winner's prize will be forfeited, and the Promoter will be entitled to select another winner in accordance with the process described above at clause 5.
6.3 The winner will be provided with the prize stated and it is not refundable, or exchangeable, and no cash alternative is offered.
6.4 The Promoter must either publish or make available information that indicates that a valid award took place. To comply with this obligation the Promoter will send the surname and county of the winner and, if applicable copies of their winning entries, to anyone who emails or writes to the Communications Team (enclosing a self-addressed envelope) within one month after the closing date stated in clause 3.1. If participants object to any or all of the participant’s surname, county and winning entry being published or made available, please contact:

6.5 In such circumstances, the Promoter must still provide the information and winning entry to the Advertising Standards Authority on request.
7.0 Ownership of competition entries and intellectual property rights
7.1 The Promoter does not claim any rights of ownership in your competition entry form.
7.2 Participants agree that the Promoter may, in their sole discretion, make competition entry forms available on its website and in any other media, whether now known or invented in the future, and in connection with any publicity of the competition. Participants grant the Promoter a non-exclusive, worldwide, irrevocable licence in perpetuity, for the full period of the intellectual property rights in the competition entry and any accompanying materials, to use, display, publish, transmit, copy, edit, alter, store, re-format and sub-licence the intellectual property rights in the competition entry and any accompanying materials for such purposes.
8.0 Data protection and publicity
8.1 Personal information provided by participants will not be stored or used for any other purpose than this competition. Please see our communications privacy notice for further information. See also clause 5 with regard to the announcement of winners.
8.2 Personal information provided by participants will only be used for the purpose of contacting the winner of the giveaway. It will be retained for a short period of 3 weeks to allow time for the prize to be claimed. This information will then be destroyed.
9.0 Limitation of liability
9.1 Insofar as is permitted by law, the Promoter, its agents or distributors will not in any circumstances be responsible or liable to compensate the winner or accept any liability for any loss, damage, personal injury or death occurring as a result of taking up the prize except where it is caused by the negligence of the Promoter, its agents or distributors or that of their employees. Participants statutory rights are not affected.
10.0 General
10.1 If there is any reason to believe that there has been a breach of these terms and conditions, the Promoter may, at its sole discretion, reserve the right to exclude participants from participating in the competition.
10.2 The Promoter reserves the right to hold void, suspend, cancel, or amend the prize competition where it becomes necessary to do so.
10.3 These terms and conditions are governed by English law. If any entrants to this promotion wish to take court proceedings, then they must do this within the courts in the United Kingdom.
