External web links guidelines (draft)
The North Northamptonshire Council website and sub-sites may include links to external websites. These are generally listed in context with specific content on relevant web pages.
Where our site contains links to other sites and resources provided by third parties, these links are provided for your information only. We have no control over the contents of those sites or resources, and accept no responsibility for them or for any loss or damage that may arise from your use of them.
If you have any queries about information accessed through links, you are advised to check directly with the organisation concerned.
External links on our website are reviewed regularly. But if you find a broken link or a link directing you to website material you feel is unsuitable, please contact us.
External links on our site
On this web site, North Northamptonshire Council includes links to organisations that users may find helpful, across a range of subject areas.
Due to the large number of marketing emails we receive, we cannot generally accept new requests for links to be added to our pages. We do not accept links for commercial or political organisations.
If you do wish us to consider a link for inclusion
Please contact us with details. Criteria we consider when linking to a site:
- Is the site relevant to specific content on this site or to the Council as a whole
- Up-to-date, authoritative and free from 'under construction' messages
- Free from offensive material, political or religious bias
- Free to access
- A government organisation, public organisation, charity or other publicly known and trusted organisation
- Transparent with respect to its ownership, funding and purposes
- Non-commercial (unless supporting the Council to meet its aims and priorities i.e. sponsorship)
Please do not contact us again if your link does not appear on our site. Each site will be looked at in the context of the other information we provide and will only be added if it is considered to meet the criteria as set out above, and meets government-mandated accessibility standards. It should also meet the standards laid out in the DCLG Code of Recommended Practice on Local Authority Publicity, and not conflict with the Constitution of North Northamptonshire Council.
We reserve the right to remove links without notice or explanation, in particular if a website is not well maintained and up-to-date, or does not meet reasonable accessibility and usability requirements.
