Strong Start is a local service, staffed by skilled professionals, who give advice and support to families with babies and young children in key areas of development. The team works closely with health and children's services and also supports any parent who contacts them.

The team works closely with health and children's services and also supports any parent who contacts us. We provide virtual support to parents through telephone, video calls and social media on a 1-to-1 and group basis, as well as face-to-face groups in outdoor spaces and community venues.

The team works closely with maternity, health visiting and children's services. We are also able to support any parent or carer who contacts us themselves. We provide virtual support to parents through telephone and email, as well as face-to-face groups in outdoor spaces and community venues. Through our social media platforms, we share advice, ideas and activities for families with young children.

We can help with everything from befriending to providing advice and support including:

  • safe sleep
  • introducing children to solid food
  • toilet training
  • child behaviour
  • child oral health
  • child safety
