This notice explains what personal data (information) we hold about you, how we collect it, how we use it and how we may share information that we hold about you in order to deliver our services. We are required to give you this information under data protection law. North Northamptonshire Council is committed to protecting your privacy when you use our services. The privacy notice below explains how we use information about you and how we protect your privacy.
North Northamptonshire Council (NNC) complies with data protection legislation (the Data Protection Act 2018 and the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and are registered as ‘Data Controllers’ (Reg. No. ZA928927).

This Privacy Notice relates to the Pride in Place Programme which is a community-led programme that helps local areas tackle infrastructure, social, and civic challenges.
As part of a £5 billion nationwide initiative, the government has allocated up to £20 million over 10 years to each of these North Northamptonshire neighbourhoods:
- Avondale Grange, Kettering
- Kingswood and Hazel Leys, Corby
- Queensway, Wellingborough
The council is the Accountable Body for this funding and is responsible (with the MPs office) for recruiting a chair of each Neighbourhood Board. These Boards will bring local people, businesses, and community groups together to shape the future of their area.
The council will also provide project support during the initial stages of the programme and support the Boards in engaging with their communities and in developing a vision and 10-year Regeneration Plan.

2.0 Information that we hold

Personal Information is any information that can be used to identify a living person. There are examples of personal information on the ICO website.
2.1 We currently collect and process the following information for managing the recruitment process and managing the delivery of the Board:
- Contact details - names, email addresses, addresses, telephone numbers
- Details of race and ethnic origin for monitoring purposes
- We may also require the collection of bank details to enable payments of expenses to be made

3.0 How the information is obtained

3.1 Most of the personal information we process is provided to us directly by you for one of the following reasons:
- Application for Board Chair
- Application for Board member
- Payment of agreed expenses
3.2 There are several reasons why we need to collect and use your personal information. Generally, we collect and use personal information where:
- you have requested a role on a Pride in Place Neighbourhood Board from us
- it is needed for recruitment purposes
- it is needed to manage the Boards, inform you about meeting dates and to pay relevant eligible expenses
4.0 What we do with the information

- Include if you share information with anyone, or any other business - make sure you include how you do this and any sharing you do outside the UK
4.1 We use the information that you have given us in order to deliver the recruitment process for the Chair and Board members and manage the delivery of the Boards when established, including the setting up of meetings etc. This will include sharing it with the MPs office.
The information will only be used for the purposes stated when it was collected. Information will not be sold, rented or provided to anyone else, or used for any other purpose than that for which it was originally collected unless required to by law.
4.2 We may share contact information with the relevant MP’s offices to support the recruitment process. We will not share bank details with anyone else.
We will share personal information with law enforcement or other authorities if required by applicable law. Any information sharing is undertaken in accordance with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. We have mechanisms in place to share information lawfully and securely.
5.0 How long we keep your information for and how we securely dispose of it after use
The responsible officer should ensure that this activity is added to the retention schedule if not already included.
5.1 We keep your personal information for the purpose of the recruitment of the Board Chair and Board members, and in ongoing management of the Board in line with the council’s retention schedules.
5.2 We will securely dispose of your information in line with retention periods.
