The Northamptonshire Council (Public Footpaths UM1, UM2, UM3, UE16, UE19 - Finedon) 

Temporary closure by notice

North Northamptonshire Council as Highways Authority do hereby give notice that for a period of twenty-one days from the 15 of July 2026 those lengths of Public Footpaths, UM3, UM2, UE19, UE16 and UM1 in Finedon as specified in the Schedule below are closed to pedestrians due to safety due to historical mining land needing investigating. Access to land or premises adjacent to the said lengths of footpaths is unaffected.

(Lengths of footpaths to be closed)

Public Footpath UM3 in the parish of Finedon to be closed starts at point A on the map at national grid reference (NGR) SP 492687/27222. The route travels in an Easterly direction for approximately 1221 metres to point B on the map at NGR 493627/272683.

Public Footpath UM2 in the parish of Finedon to be closed starts at point C on the map at NGR SP 491975/271779 it travels for approximately 2319 metres in a Southernly direction to point D at NGR SP 493722/270397. The route proceeds a further 367 metres to the East to point E at NGR SP 494047/270488. The route also travels from Point D at NGR SP 493722/270397 for 900 metres in a South-Westerly direction to point F at NGR SP 493559/269824.

Public Footpath UM1 in the parish of Finedon to be closed starts at point G on the map at NGR SP 491690/271646 and travels in a Southernly direction for approximately 2841 metres to point H at NGR SP 492863/269281.

The routes to be closed is shown by solid black lines between points A – B, C-D-E, D-F, G-H.

Alternative route:  There is no suitable alternative route.
