Visit Corby Fire station for Stoptober support!
09 October 2025

North Northamptonshire residents are invited to a special Stoptober event at Corby Fire Station on Friday 10 October. Visitors can meet the Council’s Stop Smoking team for friendly advice and enjoy a close-up look at the station’s fire engines.
The event, running from 10.30am to 3pm, offers informal chats with stop smoking advisors and a chance to view the fire engines on display. Families are welcome, and children may especially enjoy seeing the engines up close. Free parking is available at the Fire Station, located opposite Phoenix Retail Park.
The Stoptober event on Friday 10 October is part of a wider campaign to help residents quit smoking and improve their health. For those ready to stop, the Council’s Stop Smoking Service currently offers tailored support with just a one-week waiting time - meaning smokers could be just seven days away from a smoke-free life, better health, and more money in their pocket.
Last year more than 1,600 residents in North Northamptonshire set a quit date and 67% of those have been successful in quitting smoking.

We are pleased to be supporting the Council’s Stoptober event at Corby Station. Smoking poses a serious fire risk as well as a health risk, so it is important for us to partner with the council to make people aware of the dangers of smoking.Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue Service.
We want to ensure that people who do smoke, both in and out of the home are aware of the risks and know how to prevent potential fires. We will be on hand to welcome the community of Corby to the station, offering advice and booking home fire safety visits for those who need them.
