Update on Elections for Members of Youth Parliament

The elections for Members of Youth Parliament (MYPs) for North Northamptonshire were scheduled to take place ahead of newly elected representatives taking up their positions on 1 April 2026.
These elected young people would form part of a wider cohort representing both North and West Northamptonshire at a county level.
However, due to unforeseen national circumstances, the election process for Members of Youth Parliament has been temporarily paused across England. We are currently awaiting further guidance from the Department for Culture, Media & Sport (DCMS) and the National Youth Agency (NYA) regarding the next steps.
We will provide an update as soon as we receive additional information from our regional and national partners.
