About 15 young people from the North Northamptonshire Youth Advisory Council and East Northants Young Ambassadors were invited to an awards ceremony on Saturday 8 November at the council chamber in Kettering to recognise their contributions to North Northamptonshire’s first ever Youth Summit, which took place last month.
The young people received certificates and vouchers to commemorate their efforts, presented by Adele Wylie, Chief Executive Officer for North Northamptonshire Council, Cllr Elizabeth Wright, Executive Member for Children, Families and Education, at North Northamptonshire Council, and Cornelia Andrecut, Director of Children’s Services for North Northamptonshire Council.
The inaugural Youth Summit event was attended by more than 100 people from schools and local partners across North Northamptonshire, and was supported by more than 17 organisations, clubs, non-profits and charities offering services and support for young people.
Our first ever Youth Summit was a very successful event and the young people involved in making it happen rightly deserve a huge amount of praise and recognition. This awards and celebration event provided a wonderful opportunity to show how grateful we are for their input and ongoing support in championing the voices of young people. I hope other young people come forward and join the youth council and help make a difference in their own unique way.Cllr Elizabeth Wright, Executive Member for Children’s Families and Education, at North Northamptonshire Council
