Residents invited to help shape £20m investment in Queensway
19 June 2026

A shout-out is being made to people living, working and connected to Wellingborough’s Queensway estate to play a key role in shaping the future of their neighbourhood by joining the Pride in Place Neighbourhood Board.
The invitation comes following the appointment of Nicky Kingsnorth as Chair of the Queensway Neighbourhood Board, which will oversee the delivery of the Government’s Pride in Place programme – bringing £20 million of investment to the area over the next ten years.
The Neighbourhood Board will bring together local voices to develop a shared long-term vision for Queensway and decide how funding is invested to meet the real needs of the community.
Residents, workers, community groups and businesses are now being encouraged to apply to join the Board and help guide the programme.
About the role
Neighbourhood Board members will play an important part in shaping change in Queensway, including:
- Creating a 10-year plan for the area
- Deciding how funding should be spent
- Making sure plans reflect local priorities
- Working with residents and partner organisations
- Monitoring progress and providing constructive challenge
- Acting as an advocate for the neighbourhood
The role is voluntary and open to people aged 18 and over. No previous board experience is required, and training and support will be provided.
Members will attend meetings, share local knowledge and ideas, and work collaboratively to make fair and inclusive decisions for the community.
Who can apply?
The Board is looking for people from a wide range of backgrounds and experiences. At least half of members will live or work in the Queensway area.
Applicants should:
- Care about their community
- Have strong local connections or understanding of local issues
- Be respectful, fair and open to different perspectives
- Support equality and inclusion
- Be willing to learn and work with others
Applications are welcomed from individuals across the community, including those involved in local groups, voluntary organisations and businesses.
There is a strong focus on ensuring the Board reflects the diversity of the area, and applications are especially encouraged from those who are often under-represented in decision-making.
