North Northants residents encouraged to make a splash this September and beyond!
Leisure and sports03 September 2025

Swimming pools across North Northamptonshire are gearing up for the Big Sport Relief Swim this September - part of the nationwide Sport Relief Challenge aimed at boosting health, wellbeing and community spirit. North Northants residents are invited to take part in the challenge or explore the wide range of swimming sessions available at their local pool.
North Northamptonshire leisure centres offer a diverse range of swimming and aquatic programmes designed to be inclusive and accessible for all residents.
Adults and children can take advantage of structured "Learn to Swim" courses, including beginner-level sessions that build water confidence and teach essential techniques.
From competitive swimming to family splash sessions, the centres also champion inclusivity with tailored disability swimming sessions, alongside accessible facilities such as poolside mobility aids and adapted changing rooms. Neurodiverse individuals can benefit from quiet swim sessions in calming environments, while others can be supported through gentle aquatic activities that promote wellbeing and social connection.
Our facilities reflect a strong commitment to making swimming a welcoming experience for everyone in the community. Whether you’re an adult looking to improve, a mum-to-be, or have a family member who might enjoy a dementia-friendly session, there’s a wide range of general swim, learning, and specialist opportunities available. I’d encourage residents to make use of our pools to boost their physical and mental health in a way that suits their needs and abilities.Cllr Brian Benneyworth, Executive Member for Health and Leisure at North Northamptonshire Council
Swimming is one of the most accessible and enjoyable ways to stay active - and our pools are a vital resource for all ages and abilities. This September, we’re proud to support the sport relief challenge and highlight the wellbeing associated with pools and the many ways residents can get involved, stay healthy, and feel good.Cllr Martin Griffiths, Leader of North Northamptonshire Council
