North Northamptonshire Council is supporting local businesses and community groups to reduce energy use and environmental impact through its Powering Change programme.

Funded by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF), the programme offers free access to the SmartCarbon platform, a user-friendly tool to measure carbon emissions and create a tailored Carbon Reduction Plan (CRP). These plans help organisations understand their environmental footprint, meet procurement requirements, and take practical steps toward decarbonisation.

Carbon reduction plans are tools that help organisations to better understand and manage their energy use, whilst demonstrating net zero ambitions to customers and stakeholders.

Now, business and organisations in the North Northamptonshire area have an opportunity to access the SmartCarbon platform free of charge to develop a carbon footprint and tailored Carbon Reduction Plans. In addition, participants will receive tailored one-on-one support to help interpret their carbon data and take meaningful action.

Participants also benefit from free online support sessions designed to build internal capacity and ensure their Carbon Reduction Plans are practical, actionable, and aligned with procurement standards.

The next session taking place on 13 November, will focus specifically on Carbon Reduction Plans and is open for registration now and offers valuable insights.
